The technological future of contemporary organizations is closely associated with new trends of information technologies at the global level. The paper emphasizes the importance, place and role of information technologies in the “organizational design”, both in the domestic organizational theory, and in consulting and managerial practice. The starting point of this paper is that organizational design is an important managerial tool that affects productivity, a key output factor in any business success. In this context, one of the biggest impacts on the design of organizational structure is the achieved level of development and implementation of modern information technologies. Modern economies are increasingly based on small and flexible organizations, rather than on large companies with a “be the best in everything” strategy. The trend of development of new technologies create a modern and efficient organization, makes it possible to do business on the global markets through the information-based structural models of network and virtual organizations, which confirms this hypothesis daily.
