Abstract

Evaluation of students’ learning achievement is a very important task in the domain of education. In recent years fuzzy set theory is applied with the purpose to achieve reasonable grading system. In this paper we investigate the application of Mamdani based fuzzy inference system which provides a useful way to consider importance, complexity and difficulty of the questions. On the other side we investigate the technique for automatic synthesis of If Then rules. The main goal is definition of fuzzy inference system which is easy to implement and incorporate into educational software systems or web based course management systems as well as comparison with the system which uses automatically synthesized If Then rules.
