QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT - WHAT IS STANDARD ISO/IEC/IEEE 90003: 2018

Abstract

An overproduction of standards and a growing number of standards developing organizations (SDOs) have led to the phenomena that many SDOs pool their efforts to joint development of standards as well as to publish standards that have the primary focus to link different concepts and facilitate the application of generic standards in specific activities. Within the largest technical committee for the development of information technology standards ISO / IEC JTC1, a number of standards of standards’ related documents are developed in order to connect the ISO 9001 standard with standards related to IT services, software, life cycles of software and life cycles of system. The aim of this paper is to point to these phenomena in the field of IT management and bring the ISO/IEC/IEEE 90003: 2018 standard closer to the professional public from the IT sector.
