Integration of SAP PaPM module with various data sources

Abstract

The subject of the research is the analysis and overview of various integration possibilities of the SAP Profitability and Performance Management (referred to as PaPM) module with multiple data sources. The purpose of their use, their functionalities and the advantages brought by their utilization are explained. Their characteristics are presented and analyzed through practical examples, allowing users to understand the differences and decide on the application of an appropriate source for their own business activities. The research was conducted for both, cloud and on-premise versions of the PaPM system. The research problem includes the use of various data sources within the SAP PaPM solution, the analysis of their utilization in different business scenarios, as well as an analysis of their advantages and disadvantages, including potential limitations when it comes to certain systems. The goal is to familiarize the user with the characteristics of each of them, as well as their different formats, and then, equipped with sufficient knowledge, the user should be able to choose the optimal data source that satisfies all project requirements and needs.
