APPLICATION OF KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS IN DATA SECURITY MANAGEMENT

Abstract

The application of key performance indicators (KPIs) defined for measuring the level of data security on the Internet is presented in this paper. These KPIs are applied to the company that provides services for measuring the level of data security on the Internet. The main activities observed in this domain relate to the provision of incident response services, operational cyber security, and consulting services. Based on the measured values of the defined KPIs, companies can access the level of data security in their system, but also define improvements for achieving a high level of data security. The defined KPIs were applied to the data of the selected company and obtained results that differ from the desired values of the observed KPIs. Based on that, it can be concluded that the observed company should improve the quality of services it provides. Some of the options are to engage additional staff to solve current problems, as well as the introduction of additional applications or software that would speed up the process of troubleshooting.
