Abstract
Web 2.0 (social web) has contributed to the definition and implementation of the basic principles of education for the 21st century and it includes communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity. Web 2.0 tools are social software tools for interaction and the exchange of information, as well as for publishing and modification of internet and other digital content where users create their own content. With the advent of Web 2.0 technology a new form of e-learning appeared, the so called e-learning 2.0. E-learning 2.0 takes advantage of the new technology and innovative teaching methods. The emphasis is
on mutual interaction of pupils/students in acquiring new knowledge. This method of learning represents a new type of learning that takes place through conversation, sharing or exchange of content in an open environment. The survey covers all significant aspects of Web 2.0 tools in the function of e-learning. The aim of the study is to draw attention to the importance of implementing Web 2.0 tools in the function of e-learning as teaching aids that encourage and motivate effective learning in web environment.
