Abstract

Blooming global economy and use of integration and communication in business environment is moving world market towards globalisation and significantly changing relationship within company, between companies and individuals. To respond to globalisation challenges, big companies have to be more efficient and flexible so they can become truly global organisation and not just set of business unites with local thinking and acting. That is main reason why big companies are transforming though change of standard business operating model and implementation of centralised ERP system. The primary aim of this paper is to present a scientific view and explain the method of introduction of centralised ERP system into large global companies. What makes the proposed methodology exceptional is an efficient approach tailored for complex and large-scale implementation of integrated informational systems. For the sake of comparison, owning to the implementation of the proposed methodology, it was possible to implement ERP system in over two hundred business units in just three years, while other similar FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) companies either failed completely at this type of project, or managed to implement the central set of the system in just a dozen countries per year. This methodology has set new standards that will be applied as „best practice” in the future.
